Fostex or HHB????

Greetings,

I would appreciate any advice on which field recorder you may feel is the best between the Fostex FR2 and the HHB MDP-500. Although I would love to get my hands on the new SD727, I need a unit within the next couple of months and It sounds like I may not be able to get my hands on one in the time frame I need it. Plus the extra $1500 puts it a tad out of my price range. Any thoughts?

Well, I don't like the FR-2, but it does offer higher resolution recordings. Minidisc audio is compressed, and I would only ever use minidisc for backup purposes only. So....if you have to get something right now, get the FR-2, OR...the Marantz PMD670. The PMD670 is only $699. The FR-2 is $1299.

Have you used the PMD670 yet? I'm looking seriously at it, but haven't actually found anyone that has used it yet. Thanks!
