Fostex FR-2

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I have one of these and would like some type of rig so that it can stand by my tripod-mounted camera during shoots for me to monitor more easily. It doesn't have the usual screw-hole for a tripod plate like most similar devices, so does anyone have advice on how to make a practical stand? Some friends advised me to velcro it to to one of those steel plates with a knub for a c-stand knuckle, which is the best solution I've heard so far. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm all ears!

PS: I have the -LE version:

I don't know of any similar device that has a tripod screw.

Only the consumer pocket recorders have such a screw as they have internal mics and can be used hand-held or on a stand.

The FR-2LE is a small professional unit designed for over-the-shoulder use. Some would use it on a Recording Cart (like an Ursa Cart or similar), but the cart would cost several times more than the recorder.

If you have to do as you want, I would look at the K&M website and see if you can adapt a speaker mounting plate or the like.
