Fostex DC-R 3-2 and Canon 5D trouble

I just purchase a Fostex DC-R 3-2 for a few upcoming Run & Gun work and I thought it wasn't a bad idea as I am waiting for the BMC too

I can't make the Fostex to trigger my 5Dmk II or MkIII with the infrared control , I understand I need to set the Fostex in IR Canon mode , but what are the settings for the Canons?
Also, I have a Juicelink which seems to send a "stronger" feed to the 5D on the Fostex Mic out the signal is too weak and I need to set the in camera recording level close to the middle . I have to use the line out to get a strong enough signal
... I tried to find some info on the web , what you get is quite limited and on the B&H video demo , nothing regarding setting is mentioned
Any help will be appreciated
Best regards

After sometime almost the entire Saturday, I found out I had to set the canon(s) or remote which I did , but the issue was the signal coming from the Fostex goes strait up , so I just made a little white white flag which bounce the signal to the camera sensor i'll it taped to the top of the hand grip, now it seems to work
Great preamp on this unit BTW .
