Format for company LOGOS

After about 2 1/2 months and 3 sets of drafts I am just about happy with the logo my designer has developed for me.

Now what I need to know is there any special format that I need to have the logo in? I am sure she will put the logo on a disc that I can just import into whatever program I am using.

Those of you that have logos done for print and video are there any suggestions that I need to pass on to my designer? She should know what to do for print work but I am not sure about video use.

I need to get the logo on some t-shirts as well for when I am out on shoots.

A high resolution (300dpi) PICT, or TIFF, or even JPEG should be fine. I'm sure your designer knows that if it's going to print. Do you have Photoshop? You can scale it down if necessary and use it in your videos.

Some print companies have special requirements - like and EPS file in CMYK colorspace. You can make these changes easily with Photoshop. Your designer should be able to easily output any format you like.

I'm not too familiar with Illustrator. I've had good luck just printing with Photoshop files, provided that they are the right size for a given template.

See if you can get a copy of the logo in vector form as well. That will allow you to blow the image up to whatever size you want without compromising quality.

She asked me what size I wanted the logo in. I am not really sure. I am guessing small, medium and large? I dunno. I like Shaw's idea because that would work if I wanted my company name on a banner or something large like that. For something like a Business card, various production forms, or T-shirts, I am not sure what size to tell her unless she just makes it a certain size that I can or someone else can easily blow it up to a larger scale.
