Forgive my ignorance

Hi guys,

I hope you will forgive my ignorance, I promise I did a search but I guess most people aren't as stupid as I am :crybaby:

How do I get the footage I have shot from my AG-DVX100a to my PC?

I looked at the capture section in CS3 but all it seemed to do was use my cam as a really expensive web cam. I looked at import but when I click on my DVX icon in bridge, when it is connected to the PC by fire wire IEEE..., it says the thing is empty.

Im sure I recorded stuff cause I can watch it on the LCD of the camera.

Again please forgive a newbie and any help you could give would be awesome!

Sounds like you have your camera set to recording mode when you are doing the capture in CS3. You want to make sure you camera is set to VTR or playback mode before you start the capture window. The capture window should then provide functionality to control the playback of your camera from within premiere.

For DV you can only capture in realtime. What you can do however, is go through your tape and set in and out capture points. Then hit capture and walk away. The camera will rewind and go through the time and capture all your in and outs.
