I'm not sure Segways are for fat, tired or old people. It does require you to stand up. A regular moped would make more sense.

You're right. Damn things are completely useless.

Because then you basically would have - the Rascal. Costing a lot more than a Rascal, though, in unnecessary mechanical and electronic complexity.

Presumably the force you could exert by leaning from a seated position isn't as much as you can exert from a standing position. You probably have finer control when standing, too.
