Foreign Remakes

Is it me, or has lately LA been moving off making books into films, and moving more onto reproducting Foreign Country films.

Went to see.. Untraceable on..Orange Wednesday. There was an advertisement for a film titled;

One Missed Call

Which is a remake of a thai film i believe. Now just after watching Cellular, I went on IMDB to see if there was some cheesy sequel. I found a picture of Keithers daughter in 24. She's in a Thai film remake also called 'Shutter'

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482599/

So is there something going on here, they both seem to be horrors. Anyone else noticed this or is it just my imagination running like clockwork?

I think over the course of the last 10 years Americans have stole a ton of far east horror films.

the sad thing is...hollywood NEVER makes them as good.

i did some cutting on that trailer for "one missed call". bleh.

It was quite creepy, e.g the bus part. After trailers are over my mates normally like;

'So you wanna see that?'

But he just shut up, said it looked to scary :grin:

The Departed was a great film, loved the plot twists. But Middle East Horror Remakes are something else I think. Yet again, I havn't seen them all. Going to see Vantage Point now.
