For Viewing and Comments Welcome

Too busy for my taste. Too much to figure out in a logo and a logo should be fast and easy to figure out in my opinion. When I saw the full thing I told myself it would be really cool if the blades could spin, and sure enough, they did. That was cool. The close ups of the blades were confusing because I couldnt figure out what they said, and it seemed like a bad angle on the blades, like you were trying to let us read them but the angle was too small. Just my thoughts. Color was nice. Is it possible to add texture or are you going for the smooth gold look?

It looked nice but I felt it ran a little long. I think, too, for a logo that it was a little busy at the beginning. I liked it once you could see it was a helicopter and thought the turning blades was a nice touch.

Yep, WAY too busy and WAY too long. That was fine if you were wanting to simply have it as a 30 second commercial for the company, as far as length, but it's now what I'd do for just the logo.

Here's my take, on what I'd want to do with it. Make the thing NO more than 10 seconds long, at the maximum (length varies depending on purpose/venue). I'd open with a 1-3 second shot of the static logo, with the blades not moving. Then I'd have them spin, as they currently do, but as they're spinning have the helicopter bank & come at us, nose down, and as the blades get in view, have them slow WAY down (velocity envelope, from fast to slow within just a few frames, using a touch of motion blur while the blades are fast, and cut it when the blades slow) ... that way, as the blade comes into perfect view (still slowly coming at the screen) the audience can see the important tag line, motto, etc. of the company, realizing the blades are actually words the entire time.

That make sense? Anyway, I can see it in my head, and that's the non-busy, less cluttered, shorter version that I'd want to go with.

Otherwise, nice CGI work.

Thanks all for responding!

Er.....I guess I meant to say it was a brief video of the finished static logo. (The members already know the design.) That being said, I'm incorporating the ideas into the re-do. Sorry for the confusion.

Envision, I like the idea of it coming at the viewer head on.

i would go for the HBO look. or the beginning of batman. we should track around that line in the logo and then pull back to reveal the whole thing in one shot instead of having all those cuts.

I'd also recommend changing your keyframes from "smooth" to "Linear" so you don't have those slow starts that jump after the zoom gets moving.

Thanks Spot, I'll give it a try. I don't do much "still" animating with Vegas, but I've started to get some nice results.
