For those who are FCP users, Adobe's offering 50% off on CS5.5 Production Premium

Adobe is offering CS5.5 Production Premium for 50% off...

I decided to post this note that here, rather than in say... the FCP or FCP X sections... someone could take offense... But I think Apple has done themselves enough damage that there there's really not much offense that could be taken.

Indeed. Saw this all over Twitter but thanks for the post. Besides, knowing only FCP will only get you so far. Avid is still a powerhouse in NY and LA and knowing Adobe apps is a must if you want to survive in this industry

Update: You don't even need to be an FCP or AVID user to get this deal. Check out the updated portion near the bottom of this post. They never ask you to confirm ownership of another program. I've been (I know, I know) using a bootleg of CS5 for a while now with the intention to purchase before starting any pro work, and this looks to be my ticket. $850 for CS5.5? Expires September 31st? This looks like about the best deal that will probably ever be available. Definitely worth looking into whether you used FCP or not.

The last bootleg copy of an Adobe product I used was v1.0 of Photoshop. Just ran across my 2.5 install disks cleaning out a closet... For some things I think a longer term 'trial period' than 30 days is needed, especially for complex software. That or rather 'cheap' entry pathways. The Educational discounts do some of that. Apple has never had so unquestionably good Educational discounts, and never been in to even the 30 day evals...

Yep to Bryan. All you need to do is enter the promo code SWITCH at check out and you are set.

I bought mine already.

Indeed, this is the best deal we've ever had for Production Premium and Premiere Pro. Yes, all you need to do is enter the SWITCH promo code at checkout. We figure most that don't have Production Premium or Premiere Pro already are editors coming from other NLEs, so that is why we are not requiring proof. I say, go for it!
