for those ultra ultra low-budgeters out there looking for money...

well this is how it goes:

a friend was asked to paint a house, so he asked if i could help and "make it worth my while".

it wasn't a "rate" per se.. but maybe i put in about 30 hours.

basically, i had nothing better to do (and want new gear)... so i said, why not?

but i also know a few people who work very high yield, very intense work. i know a fellow who worked at an oil rig in alaska... made 30k in one summer... however you really need to be physically fit for something like that. then there's everything in between.

painting is really easy :)

If you charge $200/wk for house painting, and you actually do a good job, I'll hire you. In a few month's I'm moving and I need to repaint the old house in prep for renters...

...hell, at $200/wk I'll even pick up your plane ticket to LA, if you need one...

thanks for the offer man.... but i think i'm set for a while :D

Its great you are churning up work but you are really undercutting yourself if you are painting and only making $200 a week. I was a house painter over 10 years ago and we priced jobs on the square footage we would be covering. You can easily make thousands of dollars for a weeks worth of work and be able to hire some help for quicker turn arounds and ultimately more cash. Just my $.02. You are right that painting isnt that hard physically but I can tell the difference from a skilled paint job and an amateur one.
