We are all too familiar with this in the video world...some (unnamed) companies, seem to think it's OK to cripple their cameras to to fit in a price bracket as to not cannibalize their cinema line which costs double for almost the same technology. The punch line is that we fall for it and then complain about it later while the engineers are laughing all the way to the bank.
Even worse, producers and non technical client's often require the cinema line just because it costs more and is more impressive looking.
