For those of you that own Kata 207 bag

I just received mine today. I've read that it's best to store the DVX face up. I noticed that if I pack it that way, the viewfinder sits on the bottom of the bag and all the weight is on the viewinder since it protrudes outwards. Is this safe? Anyone of pictures of how they pack it? or recommend what's the best solution? Thanks.

Hey nice buy! I think this is one of the most versatile backpacks out there. I pack mine with the lens down. It won't be a problem for the camera and it fits better than lens up in my opinion, and makes more room for other stuff. Hope that helps!

Yeah, it seems to fit better with the lens down. And there is extra padding at the bottom, so I'm thinking the extra padding there would be great for the lens. But I remember reading that it's better to have it face up though.

As far as I know lens down is fine.

Also, maybe this is an urban camera legend, but I heard that if you are going to transport it lens down or up, zoom out all the way before putting the camera in the case... Can't back this up with science; maybe the optical elements are more spread out, who knows...
