Footage Transfer Question

Hi all,

I have a video completed, which is an HDV 1080/24p .mov file (I'm on a mac, FCP). I need to get a master file to someone who is using Premiere Pro on a PC, so they can render out footage for the web and other things.

I'm guessing that an HDV 1080/24p .mov file won't play well (or at all) on his system, so I'm wondering if people have suggestions on a format I can export from FCP that might be ok on a PC system (running premiere). Thanks for any help...

Options are few if you want to keep full quality. Native HDV is only viewable on systems with FCP installed, so that is out. ANIMATION codec makes a HUGE file...but you can look at the SHEER codecs by BitJazz. They'll cost ya though.

WOrking cross platform with video is tough.

Kevin,

I have sold small clips SD and HD in the photo jpeg format as it is cross platform compatible ( PC and MAC ) with compression set to medium. the file will be huge depending on the sequence length but this will work. You could export to a firewire HD and hand off to the editor. He could easily ingest it on his PC with this format.
