FOLLOWING - CHRIS NOLAN'S 6K debut

Great news... Haven't seen it since almost 10 yrs ago. Gonna watch it again today. Awesome simple, mysterious...

If he did it for $6k, mostly all of that had to go to film stock and development costs. If he had a digital camera, he probably could have shot it for free.

I loved this movie. Taking account conversion rates for the pound and inflation, it's about $11,000 US dollars today, but like that even matters, still impressive. I think he shot it over weekends for a year and used friends' flats, home cooking, etc.

Nolan just has some mysterious magical power that allows him to make films that people (and film distributors/studio execs) just eat up. I wish I had that ability.

If I remember correctly, Nolan said in an interview that he was inspired by el Mariachi being made for $7000 so he was attempting to do the same.

Part of this film was shot in the Pullens Buildings off the Walworth Rd, Sth London. I recognize the stairs and rooftop because I used to live there.
