Re: follow focus

I *am* telling the truth.

As for BB, if you didn't get into it at the time, chances are, you're not going to appreciate it much. ;)

Re: follow focus

Big Trouble did indeed kick!

Gracie: I'd go with you but...
Jack Burton: I know, there's a problem with your face.

Re: follow focus

..im still convinced that the original "mortal kombat" video game charachters came from "big trouble in little china" ..
that movie is great.. espescially when he shoots into the air, and hits the ceiling which comes down and knocks him out..classic!

Re: follow focus

Hey, Big Trouble in Little China Kicks ass! It was the king of afternoon TV programming on my later childhood years. It's so universal that it's a underrated classic even here in Brazil...

Re: follow focus

Another Carpenter classic, way underrated in my opinion, is "They Live", which is a) the best role Rowdy Roddy Piper ever got, b) "The Matrix" before The Matrix came out, and c) features some classic dialogue and one of the longest fight scenes in cinema.

Another one that I just cannot watch enough is Wes Craven's "The People Under The Stairs". I just love the characters and characterization in that pic!

Re: follow focus

If I am not mistaking, they used a follow focus on all of the above mentioned films.

Just thought I'd bring it full circle :D

Re: follow focus

:D

Sigh...

A Follow Focus would be nice for the Dvx100. Make that an afforadable (and not insulting) Follow Focus. ;)

Re: follow focus

i love you guys! ;D those movies do indeed ROCK! does anyone know any industrial design students who need a senior project? I'm going to start asking all of my friends who are still in various art schools if they know anyone

Re: follow focus

Hey guys,

Just saw the Petroff follow-focus proto--type today....Petroff is based here in Toronto and works closely with Image Gear a company i rent a lot of stuff from.

Anyways the follow focus is looking great! It's got the same design at the Chrosziel DV unit except has a removable front scale plate as opposed to Chrosziel's top marking one. The knob is a little smaller as well..it might be an issue if u have big hands i guess..although i pull focus gripping the knob with my fingers. It has squared out opening for use of a whip and speed crank as well. Don't have any cost info but it's supposed to be much less than Chrosziel's DV unit.

Thanks,
Barry

Re: follow focus

I gotta say that the follow focus on Snake Pliskin kicked mucho asso! IMHO Snake was the best Kurt Russel Character, though Jack is still awesome!! 8) A close 2nd, by a hair.
Anywhoo, I hope a FF comes out soon for DVX. Anyone got any DIY plans that look good? Cuz it's gotta look sexy - Just like the old Camaros with the (choke) 4-cylinder engines, someone will buy it.
Hope a price comes soon for the Petroff.

Do you know how many red Mitsubishi 3000GT's were sold, with the lame 6-cylinder engine and AUTOMATIC transmissions???

Borders on blasphemy, but I guess looks matter! :-/

Re: follow focus

sorry guys...no link for the FF. Petroff's website is www.petroff.ws but it's not very comprehensive. Maybe next time I'm in at Image Gear I'll take a pic.

Re: follow focus

Hi,
I was wondering what you think of the Century Optics Focus Ring. Did you use it with the anamorphic adaptor? Were you happy with the performance? Is it worth the 400 dollars Century asks for it?

Thanks,

Joel
