Follow focus with small lenses?

Hi all, I am using a panasonic GH1, with an adapter for Leica M mount lenses. The lenses I use are rather small, thin lenses, like a Voigtlander Nokton 35/1.4 and a Carl Zeiss sonar 50/1.5. My question is if those lenses are usable using a follow focus system? Would they also be usable with friction follow focus systems like the one from Ikan?

You have my gratitude,

Christian

Ah, the very question I'm wanting to ask.
I'm in the same boat as you. I purposefully picked up a GH2 and m4/3 adapter so that I could use my Leica glass to shoot video with. I'm in the midst of putting a rig together and am stuck trying to figure out which follow focus will work best with these lenses. I'd rather go with a geared FF over friction, but it's hard to find any information on whether they'll work with Leica M lenses. My 28mm Summicron has a filter thread size of 46mm. That's not very big. My 50mm Noctilux is 60mm. I've even been sniffing around the Voigtlander 12mm to try to get wider with the 4/3 crop if I can. It has a 67mm filter thread size. Those two seem easier, but none of the lenses have particularly long barrels. I would love any advice on follow focus systems for Leica M lenses.

I am thinking of just getting a cheap FF system. I also have a Nikon adapter, so if the FF does not work well I might use my Nikon lenses. I will post my experiences if I have the stuff.
