follow focus mechanism

Anybody have any bright ideas how you might be able to use this:

you could attach a knob or handle to the rod that comes out of the attachment(on the left that goes into the drill) and then somehow use the rotating chuck (the part facing downward) to turn the SLR lens (friction/fan belt)??? Obviously, you have to change the orientation of the attachment

Just a thought - perhaps it too late at night for me to be at the computer
