This sucks!
The audio playback in my timeline sounds really foggy (as in mono), even though my source clips are stereo aif files and can be heard in their full fidelity when I play them in the viewer. At first I thought this may be because I'm working with up to 10 audio tracks, but the stereo clips sound the same when I move them into A1/A2, alone -- mono.
I never had any problems with this in FCP 4. Am running FCP 5 on a dual core MacPro with Leopard OS, and am audio monitoring my timeline with headphones using the output on the front of the Macpro, as I always have. Sequence audio settings are at 48KHZ, 16 bit, stereo mix. Audio playback is set to "default" in the AV Settings, although I've tried all the options to no avail.
What is going on?
If anyone can suggest anything, my ears are waiting to be enlightened!
Happy HOlidays.
