Focus Pull Transition?

Hey guys,

I'm shooting a series of videos where I start focused on one object, then pull focus to the rear object.

I've run into a situation where I wasn't able to get the shot of focus pulling, and instead only have the two shots of each forward and rear object in focus.

I know Vegas has the Defocus video effect but I don't think that'll work for this. Is there a way to do artificial focus pulling in Vegas or some kind of add-on I can get to that would do it?

As always thanks for any help.

edit: Actually maybe I can use the Defocus with keyframes... hmmm!! Interesting. I'll report back if I get that working.

If you want to fake a rack focus, you have to isolate objects through masking and keyframes. There's no quick drop-in solution.
