Focus Gears

I'm trying to get all my gear sorted for a music video shoot.

My 7D at the moment is kind of a mish mash of parts.. I am slowly getting it together into a cohesive shooting package but for now it is a frankenstein creation.

So my question is.. if I were to buy a Cinevate focus ring for my lens.. are the teeth on that gear industry standard? and would it work with say.. an Arri Follow focus unit?

I plan on buying a FF unit down the road.. but for now I have to rent.

Any thoughts on this?

Will this work ok?

I can't speak for the Cinevate rings, but the standard pitch for all cinema lenses are 0.8. That is the same pitch that Redrock, Zacuto, and Genus use on their gears. It is also the same pitch that Arri uses on their FF units, the same that Zeiss uses on their lenses, however not the same that are used on broadcast lenses, this rule is simply just applicable to cinema, broadcast has their own set of standards.
I prefer the Redrock ones for the ability to swap them from lens to lens, but mostly because of the fact that they actually increase the circumference of your lens, allowing for longer pulls (think of the larger chassis on things like the CP.2s) However they are not universal, so they come in different sizes and you need to have either the lenses they list, or do the measuring process they walk you through for off brand lenses.
