focal lengths?

does anyone know a formula, or can link to a chart that has the focal length equivalents between 35mm and 16mm? I'd just look at my director's viewfinder, but I dont have it.

Hans, in order to calculate a lens' focal length between 16mm and 35mm, you would want to take your 35mm focal length, and basically divide it by 2.

A 35mm lens is a 35mm lens... The difference is the format area that it covers, a 35mm gate is a bigger area, a 16mm gate is a cropped 35mm gate. A CU in 35mm will be tighter in 16mm. So if you consider 50mm normal in 35mm. A 25mm should be normal in 16.

Just another noob question.... what gives a wider area of view between the nikon 28mm and the hvx stock lens. I seem to notice little difference.
