Flying saucer.

Adobe have a video called 'It's showtime' which can be found at the following url.

In the sequence they have a very simply drawn flying saucer moving across the screen. I would like to try and produce something similar. However, I'm having trouble making the centrals circles of the flying saucer travel from left to right, so that the UFO appears as if it is spinning. If someone could tell me how to recreate this effect I would be grateful. Thanks

The other elements of the ufo are static, only the "windows" or central circles rotate (the dome and underside don't change). You can draw these outlines with paint on a layer below. One way to handle the "rotating windows" is CC sphere.

Create a layer of windows (I'll call them "zeros") in a strip. You can use the letter "o" if you want. Make sure the zeros go the entire width, you can position the strip higher up so the "zeros" will be more distorted when using CC sphere (ie they will be farther north from the "equator" when it becomes a sphere). Precompose this layer

Apply CC Sphere to the precomposed layer. Adjust the radius, and keyframe CC sphere's Y-rotation to animate

Thanks for the reply. In the video the stars also shake slightly giving a just drawn kind of effect. This effect is also used at the end of the 'charlieissocoollike' videos on youtube when stephen fry is performing his voice over.

Can anyone please tell me what effect this is?
