I am finally doing something, next project involves one white room completely monotone. Lighting as seen by me, soft white, possibly with a blue tint, flood-like illlumination no shadows cast. My dilemma is that i can only suspend the lights above the room (it is a set, not a real room). I am looking at around 1k to 1500watts of white full spectrum light.
I was looking at the fluorescents intensely, especially on this page http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/fluorescent_bulbs.shtml
I am looking at either one of the two
48" F40-T12MB Spectra 5900 F40-T12 48" 40 CRI93 5900K 2500 Lumens
$7.50
48" F40-T10MB Spectra 5900 F40-T10 48" 40 CRI95 5900K 3100 Lumens
$9.00
If counted as 150w equivalent of tungsten for each 48" 40w fluorescent, in order to power up to same 1.5k tungsten i will need 10 tubes which roughly comes out to 100 bucks. Judging from the specs it looks like t10 is the most accurate bulb, though i heard a more common bulb was t12. Where exactly is the difference? How important are lumens? Now, i know there is wiring, ballast and more mess to this could anyone point me to good solutions here keeping in mind i will need to suspend this thing in the air heh. What about diffusion type plastic is that required or can i go open-faced?
Many thanks for any input!
PS Jarred's homemade kino page provides good pictures but i can't seem to find same kind of stuff around my area.
