quick question about the lights :)

Fluorescent 440 by Mole day light balance
HMI 800 Watt
hotlight 2000Watt blue gel

at 10 feet which one would give more lumans?

on hmi and hotlight there is a softbox :)

thank you so much for help

jin

also I have another quesiton about lens designs in "Cafe section" please look over that one too

thanx

Um, Those are different lights, used different ways. I guess the HMI would win the battle if you spot it in, but if you bounce it off a card or thru a chimera to get the same quality as the fluorescent... probably the HMI again.

I'm not sure what a hotlight is.

What is the lighting situation? A lumen test?

Depends on how thick the diffusion material is on the softbox.

Going by a raw footcandles (as expressed in terms of color-corrected blue watts), the HMI will deliver about 2400 watts worth of blue light, the Fluorescent will deliver around 1760, and the tungsten will deliver around 500.

The fluorescent doesn't need a softbox, as it's already inherently soft. But adding a softbox to the other lights will cut their output significantly. So I'd say the 2K tungsten fixture with blue gel is completely out of the running. The HMI and the fluorescent will probably be pretty competitive.

Barry THANK YOU SO MUCH :)

now I am going to buy few items :)

thank you sir...

one more thing could you please answer one more question about lens designs?

"I have this question about the lens design.

what is the difference between Cine-style lens and video lens and photo lens....

for example Cooke 50mm T2, Canon EF 50 1.4F, Canon FJ Prime 55mm

I do know that the Canon FJ is for 2/3 and cooke is for movie film with warm tone and canon EF is for photos. but the price differece is huge between the three lens. I am just wondering why is Cooke so much more money in design comparsion to EF 50 [which in my opinion is very sharp and color sati. lens] and Canon FJ prime....

thank you for help

I try to defer all lens questions to Bill Turner whenever possible. The man designs lenses for a living and could give a far more accurate answer than any of the rest of us could.
