FlowPod + HVX?

Has anyone set up a bare HVX + battery on the FowPod successfully? I was at a mates place and he owns one with the vest and I tried for a couple of hours to balance the HVX with no success. He had three black add on weights that I attached as low on the bottom of the shaft as possible but it still seemed top heavy. Any advice.

Hi Peter,
The Flowpod seems to be a smart device. I considered buying it, but found a used Steadicam Flyer. After having done a lot of handheld and Steadicam with the HVX I'll say that even if you get it to balance on the Flowpod, you must not count on doing many or lengthy shots with it. It's just too heavy for long time operation using only a 'human arm', not a Steadicam arm. Best of luck with it all.

He did have the vest (I think it's called the sporster) but I didn't get around to mounting it as I couldn't get the balance right.

Anyone know the magic formula?
