Floor Dolly question/advice.

Hi everyone,

We are working on a live-action Short, and we are looking for a floor low angle dolly solution, that allow us to change directions easily. The camera has all the stuff in it (adaptors, lenses, rails, ff, mattebox)...so it's a heavy setup.

So far I found this link, but I'm not sure if it allows me to change directions easily.

Any feedback/help much appreciated.

Carlos.

That model you linked kind of looks like once you start going in a specific direction, you can change direction, but not abruptly. It looks like you'd have to slow down and veer off wherever you wanted to go, but I could be wrong. I'd call up that company and ask them about it.

You can hang the camera off the side of a standard track or doorway dolly. Talk you your Key Grip and AC about some ideas they have have. You can be very creative with it comes to rigging.

Try looking into a slider. The Kessler pocket dolly might do the trick since you can just set it on the floor and it has a rotating handle so you don't have to bend down to push the camera.
