Flight

Mind blown. The movie was better than I expected. Not quite the role I would see Denzel taking part of, but he can play any part in a movie. I liked how his portrayal of ignorance was similar to his intelligence. What did you think of the movie

Just saw it. Yes excellent, it's a pity there are so many great movies up for awards this year, because Denzel Washingtons character is magic.
The research he puts into his roles, man!

Not only an active airline pilot, but an alcoholic, divorcee and someone who finds the only way is to face his troubles. The supporting cast also measures up.

But being a pilot, some things are well, stretched and it's hard for me to get around them. Flying a DC9 with 120 passengers, upside down 500' above terra firma is not possible.

But not for my wife who didn't figure that at all. She did notice pilot Washingtons alcohol readings, and wondered why he wasn't detected earlier in his career.

One thing that really did disturb me, was the dialogue tracks have this very short delay, very obvious to me in some intimate scenes.
I wonder if they got feedback on that.

But an entertaining, enjoyable 2 hours nevertheless. 8/10.

Cheers.

Personally.. watch the trailer.

The rest is boring.

The trailer takes the 5 interesting minutes in the film and edits it down to two. The rest of the film is Denzel naval gazing in brown rooms - cool if that is what you like of course

Flight is one of my favorite movies of 2012, right behind The Cabin in the Woods and Dredd.

I liked this film the way I liked Saving Private Ryan...a few good minutes on a rollercoaster but not much more than that. Denzel was good, so was the girl, but this was an addiction plot by the numbers. The film really needed to end before the last scene...(potential spoiler)...you shouldn't have your main character spend the last 5 mins spelling out what has become obvious to that point. And the laundry list of winning (definite spoiler) - he gets the girl, reunites with son, gets minimum prison time - stunk like moldy socks.
