Flicker Box for Candle Flicker Effect

Hey has anyone heard heard of a inexpensive automated flicker box. Im trying to create lighting on the actors face that appears to be coming from a flickering candle. I know I can just use a dimmer for this but I dont want some poor P.A. to have to run the dimmer for a 3 long shooting days. I found these two DIY projects but I would rather have something ready made for time reasons. I figure some party supply store that sells Halloween gags would have a affordable solution but no luck so far. ....Anyone?

I guess it's not practical to use actual candles?

(This isn't intended to be a smartass question)

Unfortunately even a dozen small candles wont give you enough light to light up your actors face if they are standing about 5 feet (or less) away. There is also the fire hazard thing and the heat factor. Perhaps another flame source that creates two or three large flames would work...What would do this though? I would need to be silent and create a flame that acts the same as a candle's ...just over sized. Ideas anyone?

Tiki Torch?  (Not the kind that burns chemical fuel if indoors obviously)

HA HA I find it strangely funny that you respond with a video. Thats great! Vacation?

That may work...then again it may look more like a camp fire then candle light. There may not be a "natural" solution to this problem.
