Flat is cool.

I was just in my local outdoor store getting some supplies for my upcoming trip and I stumbled across these puppies.

This stuff is just plain cool and an example of great design. A set is almost weightless and takes up virtually no room in a pack. It's cheap and has a lifetime warranty. I'm such a design junkie, I bought a set the instant I saw it.

That is so awesome! I'm going to pick some up, then I'll have an excuse to go camping.

Well, I have to admit that I'm using my set at home and my kids and I fight over it. After my trip, I'll keep a set in the car. The whole sets slips right into one of those ziploc freezer bags. I'm seriously considering giving each guest a set at my next dinner party and letting them assemble their "flatware", use it for the dinner, and take it home.

Oh man, that just gave me an idea. The next party that we have at my place is going to be a camp out, everyone brings tents and we all crash out in the backyard after the party. That would be so awesome.

Are they seriously cheap enough to the point where you could give them out as party favors?

I guess it depends on how many people are invited. A set that includes 2 plates, 2 cups, and 2 bowls costs $22--so $11/person. The camp out party sounds awesome (except for the noisy couple in the tent next door).

Or what if everybody starts doing that... it could turn into a bad situation very quickly.

That's an interesting product, but it adds another step to eating that my laziness just can't handle.

Step 1: Kill something (...or open a can of beans.)

Step 2: Start a fire (...or press "ignite" on you bbq pit.)

Step 3: Assemble your plates, bowls, and cups (...or use paper plates, your hat, and drink from the bottle.)

Actually, when camping, roasted marshmellows are the ONLY sustanence you need. Just grab a stick and plop one over the fire. WALLAH! Instant meal and a sugar high that will keep your butt FAR ahead of the bears.
