Flashy Burn Effect

How would I go about doing the effect that looks as if the film is kind of burning through a reddish yellow flash...

If you're unsure of what I'm talking about, this video has a good example at 27seconds and 42seconds.

Sorry i couldnt see the videos youve pointed. But at the outset Vegas has no inbuilt effect for this. You will have to use a 3rd party fx software. Render the flames as an avi in that software. Then load into Vegas and composite however required. You can use it as a transition or overlay effect etc.

You can get the effect by using the "Glow" FX.

or create your own light flash footage, blur it out, colorize/etc.

overlay, and keyframe opacity in and out.. cool effect, but it does seem to be approaching a cliche edit nowadays
