Flashing/strobing in bright areas in 24p timeline

I shot my footage in 24p standard. I captured/imported into the Panasonic 24p timeline in Premiere Pro 1.5. On some clips I'm seeing fashing/pulsating in bright areas of the picture.

Anybody else experience this or know why this happens? Will this flashing/strobing show up on my final output to either DVD or back to MiniDV????

If you shot w/florescent lights, they will strobe up.

Just turn down the brightness a bit, should clear it up.

Hmm...nope. And this particular shot was outdoors, with no additional lighting.

This is the standard issue with Premiere Pro 1.5. All you have to do is drop the 'Levels' or 'Color Correction' filter--don't change any of their settings--and everything will be fine when you render out.

This workaround has been posted many times. Anyone who uses Premiere Pro 1.5 should tattoo it to their left forearm, so they'll know where to look for the answer.

Thanks Justin. Now I know.

After applying the levels or color correction filter and rendering, is the flicker still supposed to show up in the preview window?

And it'll just go away once I output to DVD/MiniDV? Or...?

EDIT: nevermind, came out good on the DVD. Thanks!

It's hit and miss on when it appears in the preview window. The only time you actually get a pretty good picture of what things are going to look like rendered out, is to render them. I ususally render part of my timeline, where I'm using heavy effects, to check things. The preview window is a visual "draft" of how the final will look.

also be weary of the shadow/highlight effect especially with the auto selected. i have had problems with flickering with this effect. when used sparingly without the auto i have little problems. if you need to do some adjustments i recomend curves since it is not a linear adjustment, thought you can achieve the same results
