Flash Rendering

Hi,

I've got a project where I need to prepare some simple roll-over flash (.swf) files for a website -- the kind that transforms from one "before" picture to an "after" picture when you roll over it with the mouse. I also need some simple slideshow (two or three pics) in flash as well.

I was hoping I could do this in Vegas, but after reading through the pertinent threads here, it appears I am SOL.

Looking for suggestions...I'd just really rather not have to learn a whole new program.

Any help appreciated.

Hi JR Anderson, when I make .swf files I use Vegas to generate the video assets and then convert them. Do a search for flash converter and you should find a number of them. You can also try On2 as I think they have codecs that can work inside Vegas.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the response. I checked out On2...turns out they don't support Vegas as far embedded products. However, I downloaded their demos for the stand alone encoders (standard and pro) and both seem fine for basic conversion from AVI -- or whatever -- to SWF.

I'm still stuck on how to... I'm not sure what the right word is...code or maybe author, the flash movie so that it is interactive. My sense is that this needs to be done in Macromedia, but I was hoping that something simple like roll-over activation might be an option in the conversion process.

On2's product had a "Click to start" option, which is close, but not quite what I'm looking for.

Any thoughts?
