Fixing popping sounds

Whenever I shoot with the DVX-100, I constantly have popping sounds on audio.
I use a Sennheiser ME-66 and a boom pole set up with a new xlr cable, so I don't know what the problem is.

Anyway, I've tried using the various filters in FCP, to no avail.

Does anyone know how to remove popping sounds from the audio?

Will the new FCP 6 help?

Thanks!

Ah if your master tapes have the sound, I wouldn't count on FCP being able to do much about them. You should investigate why you're getting the problem in the first place and fix it at the source. That will serve you a lot better.

For the stuff you have shot though, I think you'll want to try going out to Soundtrack Pro at the very least. That would give you a lot more options and power than FCP would really. But if possible, I'd take it to a sound mixer and let them use their software to see what they can do.

cheers.

Do you only notice this in FCP on your computer? Sometimes I get popping sounds b.c my external speakers plugged into my iMac are not the best in the world. And then when I either make the speaker connection better or burn a dvd it doesn't pop.

It just might be a case of lousy speakers... but of course, might not be!
