fixing gell to light panels

Can't remember exactly where I saw the thing but in a review video, someone stuck 4 small metal pads on the 4 corers of Aputure Amaran 672 LED panels and use small Neo magnets to fix gels. Seems like a great idea. Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

I've used tiny magnets glued to panels and then added electrical tape to gels then glued magnets to the tape.
Currently my 672's have bulldog clips bolted into the side 1/4 inch threads. I find this setup is the best for me.

Thay just arrived. Thr bag for the 3 light kit is nice and padded but don't think the lights would fit in with bulldog clips attacked and don't want to mess around attaching/unattaching them. The way I saw you dont nned to conect the magnets to the lights, you just put the gelss in place and sandwedge them.

Out of interest how did you attach clips to lights?

I can add larger pieces of diffusion, as long as I make sure to tighten the bolts on the side as much as possible by hand.
The diffusion I'm using in the photos is what Aputure supply with the LS1 fixture. They fit nicely into the lid of the hard case so it made sense to use them.

I'm only really adding this diffusion to lessen the glare on subjects, the individual LED points of light can be uncomfortable for a subject.
Diffusion of this size does almost nothing to soften the characteristics of the light, that's why I never bothered buying any of Aputure EZBox products.

Nice, but would not fit in the supplied dag. Just struck me umbrellas are a good option. Going to try with white and silver. Velcro pads also appeals, I have some lying around. Trick is not to cover vents, which may be tricky.

Personally I get rid of the bags that manufacturers supply. Pretty much everything of mine goes into Peli-type cases.
Or if I'm travelling really light then I just fill a few Kata bags and sit them on their removable trolly wheels.

A couple of these arrived yesterday: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/327-US-P...-Watertight-Photography-Tool-Box/162056424960
They were listed at £24 each to I bought two! My 3060 panels fit in with room to spare. They sell a range of sizes.

Max cases are really nice too, I've got a few of these: http://amzn.eu/c3BLwQc

I need to go smaller, not bigger. I sometimes have to take all my kit on a train. If I dont take all 3 laptop bags seems a good option 9they go in a hard-shell roiling suitcase so the combined protection is good.
