posted this earlier in another forum but have yet to get a response. i'm in dire need of assistance. recently wrapped production on a feature film, "these days". we shot the entire project on two DVX100's. unfortunately, it appears some of the footage was shot in the wrong scene file, as 24P instead of advanced. (it's so easy for the operator to accidentally switch scene files when doing handheld camera workk) i'm editing in final cut pro and didn't notice the mistake until after the footage was captured. in the browser the clips suddenly read 29.97 instead of 23.98....
couple of questions. first of all, do i have to recapture the footage since i was using advanced pulldown or did final cut pro bring it in properly on it's own since it's reading 29.97...i tested a clip bringing it in without advanced pulldown and when i set it down in the timeline the clip looked exactly like the footage i had logged in before...i'm hoping of course that it's unnecessary to recapture everything, as it's three tapes worth of footage i've already logged.
secondly, using cinema tools, do i click reverse telecine or conform to correct the 24p standard footage so i can bring them back into my 23.98 timeline...
by the way, i'm using Final Cut Pro 4 HD, not 5...
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
chad
