fix this sound problem in post?

I learned the hard way that not having enough lighting equipment can lead to bad sound, because I picked an interview room with good natural light but bad acoustics (all hard surfaces). Didn't even think of it at the time!

Same mic and placement as I've used in a living room with good results, but now I have a somewhat boomy, hollow sounding interview. Anything I can do in post?

Re: fix this sound problem in post?

Reverb is mixed in with all the inline audio so no you can't do anything to remove it after the fact.

In the future you can control the room by tossing sound blankets on/near hard surfaces. The trick for the soundperson is to control the reverb while not interferring with the DP's light sources (I hate windows :P).

Pound for pound, sound blankets make up the bulk of my sound gear.

You are S.O.L my friend.

Contrary to popular belief, us post people can't fix everything. You record bad sound, you have bad sound. The sound blanket trick is the best, and cheapest solution.

where can you get those? they are basically the same thing as moving blankets right?

::) ::) ::)

Um well not really but secretly (yes). Shhhhh. You can pick up some professional blankets at pro audio stores for like 30 to 40 bucks (and they are actually a little better) or some <cough> moving blankets at U-Haul for $15.

Keep it on down-low. 8)

Sound Blankets = Moving blankets

Same thing, only they are more money at sound shops because we bless them with holy sound beer.
