Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Just found out one is opening less than a block from my house. So how good is it really? I was a fiend for In N Out burger in Los Angeles so how does it compare?

My opinion…

Not quite as good as In-N-Out, but pretty damn good. And their burgers are massive if you get the "regular" size.

Cool. We have some of the best beef in the world around these parts so I look forward to sinking my teeth into one.

They're awesome. And a small fry is large enough to split with two people. Whenever I tell someone that, they don't believe me and get their own small fry anyway. But, I guess you gotta learn for yourself. Oh and the regular burger is really a double. Made that mistake too.

The burgers are every bit as good as In n Out but different. I know people who only knew 5 guys until they had In n Out and thought 5 guys was better. And, vice versa. If you lived on In n Out, your soft spot for them will probably prevail. I love In an Out and they've earned their long To Go lines. I just had my first 5 guys around about a year ago. I've only been a couple times but if I'm being honest, I wouldn't say one was better than the other. Just different.

And since we eat first with our eyes...

HUGE fan. They are all over Connecticut. I probably eat there once a week.

I love In N Out, but it's not an option where I live.

this summer was my first in-and-out experience...that said... Hahaha I always say that Mcmonalds buys the in-and-out burgers take 'em a photo and use them for their posters.....

I discoved five guys a few years ago and absolutely love the place. The small fries are definitely enough for two, just remember to get the cajun style.

Yes they are really good but the 70 grams of saturated fat makes taking my Crestor a waste of time!!

That's why I make my own burgers....and the meat where I live is totally different (read better quality...) to the American meat that I've tasted during the summer, when I went to LA (I guess meat isn't the same all over USA)........

I can only feed my In n Out habit when I go out west...

So for not having access to my drug of choice, they are pretty f-ing good. The fries may even be slightly better...

I've always only sort of liked In-n-Out, I know I'm in the minority on that, but it wasn't my favorite burger joint. There are so many other good ones around.

We just got a Five Guys and I've been there twice already, and took my dad and brother the second time. This is a great place and great food. It reminds me of one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall burger joints we used to go to when I was younger.
