What would be a good way to fit this screen into a thorlabs tube? The nikon D was easy because it had a shell that I could glue inside a retainer ring. Any suggestions would be great.

First off, this has a circle center focus, you need a completely plain matte (silent).

You would have to make some sort of case for it, or just use the frame from a manual focusing camera. You could buy a needs to be repaired camera, or find a cheap focusing screen with the frame on ebay. :)

hate to burst anyones bubble.. but i tried out the matte version of this type of screen.. and it blows. it had some weird rainbow haze/hotspot even the diffuser i put in place did nothing

If this is EE-A/S screen...

If this is EE-A/S screen...

If you are talking about EE-A or EE-S screen then there should be no hotspot nor rainbow haze. I got some vignetting with 19mm @ f4 but then again my flange distance was ca 6mm off.
