hi.

Ok, my first wedding shoot. I'm doing it for a friend of mine so is a very nice way to have my first experience.

quick question thou. I'll get a G2 wireless before...I never use one and can only afford one right now. Do you record the sound to the camera or do you use any other device? is there an advantage for one or the other?

I have learn a lot from this forum.
Thanks

Osmany

I'll do it with only one camera...DVX100a...shotgun on camera...satchler tripod and one Led on camera light.

hie hie hie, first wedding, you're in for a lit more than you think.

Yeah it can be fun, but the pressure is on, no retakes, nothing.

My suggestion is do a test recording with someone before the ceremony to make sure your audio is indeed recording, etc...

If you've only got one wireless, use one channel on the dvx, put it on the groom or the preacher. And use the other channel for the on camera mic (quality depending on how far you are from the action).

Also be carefull of 24p, it's low light performance is not as good as the camera's interlaced modes, which will be an issue at the reception part of the wedding.

Good luck

mic the groom with the wireless it will pick up the bride and the officiant. record to 1 channel on camera. Test the mic in the space before go time. There may be other devieces that cause interference.

Use the shotgun on the other channel for ambient. Do not mix them, do that in post.

The stock mic that comes with the g2 is not very good. Replace it with a countryman emw wired for g2 if you can swing it.

Thank you, thank you.

Fortunely, this is for a good friend of mine. so I'm more relax about it.

I'll do that g2...with countryman emw..to channel 1 and shotgun to channel 2.

Thanks so much.
