hey guys,
ive just started using photoshop and this is the first thing ive done in it. it's a movie poster for an upcoming film that i'm making. Any criticism and tips on it are much appreciated. It looks really amateurish in my opinion, especially the text. im trying to make it look much more professional and any suggestions are appreciated.

I like it. The only thing I'd do is remove the turntable from the upper left corner and get rid of the symmetrical blue streaking lines from the bottom left and upper right corners. I like the font. Goes with the subject of the film nicely. I might get rid of the "A documentary film about..." line. That seems a little expository. If you have a subtitle for the film, like "Nights at the ANU bar" or something, that'd be all right under the title. Otherwise, the "film by" credit by itself would do fine.

Just my ten cents.

Looks good though. Not amateurish at all.

I agree with everthing cinealma said. I would also try adding some drop shadow to the text to break away from the background image, and get rid of teh lense flares!

I like the first one better. Try taking out the turn tables and the lens flares. Then see how it looks. Also, if you took a screenshot and put some filters on it, that could be the background.

P.S. I do professional grade posters, backgrounds, and logos for free. PM me if you need any help with anything.
