first time using final cut! need some help.

i just got final cut express and i've got no clue where to begin. i'm basically a pro at imovie lol. but i need some help getting started with final cut. i have a dvx100b so i'll be shooting all 3 framerates.

i read the sticky about tutorials, but it all seemed more advance. anyone know where to find some for first timers?
 
Dbl check to make sure FCE does 23.98... I'm not sure it does. Didn't anyway before.

Your best bet is to do the tutorials that came with FCE. Start there - then you'll have a basis to ask the questions you are still unclear about.

Right now we have no idea where to begin with you.

FCE is not best for the DVX100. You're limited to cutting at 29.97. 23.98 and pulldown removal is not available. I recommend moving up to Final Cut Pro if you plan to stick with the DVX100 a lot.

Then you can also get my training disc which walks you through step by step. :engel017: It also would give you hints on FCE and what you're missing. From there ask away with specific questions. The one question no one can answer in a forum is- how do I edit.

i do plan to stick with my dvx for a while and only upgrade in years to come. so maybe i should get fcp. i'm gonna go see how much it costs now (although i'm pretty sure i have a good idea.)
