first time movie export

I want to export the my movie in 720X480 and then transfer the file to a laptop to showcase. When I export in Quicktime at 360X240, the results look great but when I change the settings to 720X480, the graphics distort and the motion animation is fragmented. What is the best compression/export setting I can use in premiere to create a good looking 720X480 movie for replay on another computer after I've transferred the completed file over to it.

For export with premiere, the cleanest way of 720x480 exporting is to simply use the default " export movie " settings. You can change em depending on whether or not it's deinterlaced, etc. PP is just naturally set up to export DV-AVI 720x480, which is usually the best way to do it.

Worked like a charm! Can I expect that this is the best setting for Premiere when going out to final media like 3/4 or other tape format for provision to cable network?

T o ensure best quality possible make certain that you do not Recompress. It is an Option CheckBox in Settings - Video.
