First time DVD author in need of guidance

I use the adobe production suite. I have a wedding I need authoring but not sure how to produce the best quality version of it to dvd.

It's standard dv footage, under an hour.

What should my settings be when I export it out of premiere, wmv, mov?

What compressor should I use?

The simplest way (although some would argue not the best way) is to use the File/Export/to Encore function. That will bring up a dialog asking for file name and location. If you look toward the center of the box you will see a button "Settings". Click that and it will open Adobe Media Encoder with all the settings. You can pick one of the presets and go with it or you can tweak them a little bit to maximize quality.

You can push the data rate up but watch the output file size readout at the bottom of window just to the right of center. Keep it under the DVD size to leave room for any menus, intro data or pictures you want to include and you should be OK.

There are others who would say there are better ways but they get more complex and involve more steps. I've had good luck with the PP to Encore workflow with both SD & HD source footage, so I'd recommend it.
