First time casting, open casting

We had our first day of casting today. Open calls. We saw about 60 people. Lots without experience, and a good amount with experience. Some good, some great, some not so great. Everyone was nice, and cordial. We only had 2 "weirdos" the whole day, and they weren't even that bad. Got started at 8am, and saw the last person around 4:45, we closed up shop at 5.

What have I learned from this experience?

- always be prepared before hand. We had people waiting outside an HOUR early. We got there at 7 am, and there were people already waiting outside.

- Don't count anyone out. They might surprise you.

- People lie, and sometimes its so ridiculous of a lie, its hilarious.

- Make sure, you keep everyone who is not supposed to be in the casting room.. OUT.. even if you have to be mean. We were too nice sometimes, but overrall we didn't have any problems.

Overrall.. it was a good experience, I greatly enjoyed it and can't wait for our second day.

Believe it or not...

South GA.

This kind of thing never happens here, even on a small scale its very rare. I've had two front page newspaper articles, and a Local news interview that ran every 30 minutes the day before.
