First Quad Core Laptop

[Jason Ramsey]

And, it's a beaut too. Fully customizeable. You can even get it with/without an o.s. and you have the choice of xp or vista.

The only thing its missing is a pcmcia slot. Has expresscard. I want both slots though

Half 10 Minutes battery life?

[Kholi]

That's supposedly the issue; that and heat. They're basically desktop laptops. But, still, a good move forward toward better portable solutions.

[MiniMan13]

Well, the Intel quad cores are just 2 core2duo's on one chip.. so Deffinatly will be hot.

I don't know, but I just configured a 14,000 dollar system with 3 64gig Solid State Sata drives

Be wary: Solid State HDDs aren't up to snuff when it comes to transfer speeds. "We're still working that out." - SanDisk

I think that's who said that.

[Jason Ramsey]

I'm totally not buying it.... Just window shopping

Interesting, but ultimately, it kinda defeats the purposes of a laptop. You'd be better off with a desktop with those specs.

Unless you are looking at months on location, knowing that FedEx's primary purpose in life, is to smash your equipment between LA and location...

...I was looking at a Dell to replace my present lappy (also a Dell) but this looks enticing. And, I may be off to Florida for a show, middle of next month...

I chose the most expensive add-ons and my total is $15783.

[Matthew R. Rodwell]

geez for $15k ill just get a loaded Mac Pro with a 30" display

[jpbankesmercer]

It's not what you got, just how you use it

[Sad Max]

Uh huh.

Spin up Photoshop, Sketchup, Polytrans, Google Earth and Lightwave simultaneous-like, and see how useful it is, if what you got is a single processor addressing 512MB RAM...
