Thanks Scribbles.
I just used the WMV9 compression and increased the bitrate to 2048. The song is called "Watching Lara" by Yan Tiersen

That was nice looking. Do you have the Letus Flip Enhanced? I read a review recently diswaded me from the Letus. Give me your impression of it.

Well I just love it. Now I have no experience with any other 35mm adapters at all, but the footage I've seen from other people were also very impressive. There is absolutely no vignetting and I think the grain is very smooth. The only thing that bothered me was that it was delivered with some specks of dust on the macro lens; so I had to disassemble the Letus, take out the macro lens and clean it. Of course this should be no problem at all, but I was not sure how to do this since I'd read somewhere that you had to cut the macro lens out of glue, which was not true. Just take two small screwdrivers and you can lift it out easily.

So, no problems so far and I love the image quality.

My biggest pull to the Letus is the Flip Enhanced feature. I can't imagine working on a lengthy project and having to flip and rotate everything before you can even choose your shots. I guess people survive the process.
Your footage looked really great by the way.

I was gonna either pick the SGPro or the Letus, but if I'd go for the SGPro, I'd have to invest in a monitor too, which is just a little out of budget for me. Considering the LetusFE is half the price of the SGPro, I thought I'd go for the LetusFE.

In that footage I had the image stabilizer off, next test I'll turn it on and see if it works OK.

Yeah, thats the only thing i've been thinking about the Letus FE, what is the solution for using with rails?

Can we get some tech specs on the footy? What camera was used to shoot this, which lens(s) Thanks.

No, I'm not using rails yet. However, my custom built rails are almost done. All I need to build is the lens support. I think the threats may carry the weight of the Letus, but don't think it's too good on a long term. There's also a little problem that I can't screw the Letus on completely, because the GG would be rotated. So it's not entirely stable (stable enough though). So I want to fix this with the rails too.

I shot this video with a Canon XH A1, at about 1/50.
The lens used is a Canon FD 50mm f1.4 @ 1.4
Image stabilizer is off.

I'm actually drawn to the Brevis 35 but there's no word on their Flip Module that they're developing. It will be an extra part to ad on to the Brevis at an extra cost that is still unknown. The $700 Letus is sounding good. I guess it'll come down to who responds to my email first.

I wasnt sure which way go to either DV8, and then i started seeing clips of the Letus around, then Disjecta popped in with the Flip Enhanced, and that was it, Ive had my eye set on this thing for a while.

Wow I've been contemplating this too as to which to get when the time comes and the Letus FE looks to be the one right now. Impressive.

Yeah, I've been filming a very short movie yesterday with the FE. We made up the script 5 minutes before we got in the car to film. So it's going to be a real good movie :D

Haven't checked out the footage yet, but I own the Letus35 FE and it is hands down the dollar for dollar 35mm adapter champ. It does what the others can't do and costs half the price.

I shot my last film "The Stop-Loss Effect" with it and I shot Justin R. Durban's SpyFest entry "Cristo" with it.

DV8, I don't know what review put you off buying it, but once you have it, you'll love it.

I've decided on it. I don't want to mess with the flip issue and the footage is great. I'd order it today but we're going to Hawaii for a family reunion and my wife wouldn't understand if I spent our luau money on more equipment. Something about not seeing her family for over a year. Screwy priorities if you ask me.

Looks like I spoke too soon. I did order it today. I got a last minute business trip to the States that will pay for some more stuff! So when I get back I'll have a nice new Letus Flip Enhanced adapter! Thanks Quyen!
