Without going into all the mundane details, I have a business need that has developed and I need some help figuring out exactly what equipment would be most apt.
Our current setup is essentially:
VIDEO
* Camera component out to SDI cable in
* SDI cable into Inlet encoder
AUDIO
* Microphone XLR to Mackie audio mixer
* Quarter inch audio cable out from mixer to SDI cable
* SDI cable into Inlet encoder (same SDI cable as above)
This setup has served our needs well for years. The camera sits mounted on a tripod and remains focused on the general stage area. The catch for this event is the stage will be in the center of the room, 360 degree view. The event coordinators are wanting the camera to follow the presenter around the stage, while transmitting video over the stream as we always do. A long run on cables is not really an option as this will be a prestigious event.
So I need a solution that allows me to wirelessly transmit video back to the SDI cable attached to the encoder (which has RGB component input). There is also budget to purchase a new camera as well, as our static camera is just a 1080i Panasonic consumer model (again, suits our needs just fine). So, in summary, I need:
* Product that allows the wireless transmitting of video back to a SDI cable with RGB component inputs
* Potentially a new camera that has this feature built in, or that allows for a transmitter to be mounted on it
As an example, I recently saw a local news crew with a Panasonic P2HD that had a wireless transmitter mounted to the back, that was no doubt sending A\V back to the van in the parking lot. If the "base station" he was sending that video to had component outputs, than that seems like it would be a feasible solution here.
Any and all advice would be most appreciated. If something doesn't make sense, please ask me for clarification! Thanks
