First 8K TV

This TV is to large for my living room.
And how close do you have to sit to it, to benefit from 8k?

just saying...

True. Plus, it'll take at least until 2030 until Orange-ray players have battled it out against Super-HD-DVD and then gone down in price enough to be affordable (same with the movies).

Delivery really is the big question. NHK is going to test it as a terrestrial broadcast format... doesn't that sound like Sooooo last century?

It's the same with audio when it comes to home theater setups.

At one point it stops being about how great the hi-fi is and starts being about the size and shape of the room.
I'm sure I can get further with my Yamaha reciever and 6.1 Audiopro speaker system that I purchased in 2003(!) if the size and shape of my living room is right and the system is calibrated properly, than a lot of people can get with their brand new systems if they have a small 1 room apartment and haven't calibrated (which most people don't do).

By 2020 this 8K TV will be a joke. Who knows what kind of break through will happen in all aspects of filming and displays.
