Firewire thru DVX100 to monitor Qns

My friend messed around with the settings on my DVX100 and I no longer get analogue video out when using the DVX100 to convert the firewire output of my FCP to preview.

I think it is to do with the 1394 TC Regen settings etc. Anyone have any similar experiences, or know the correct settings?

The settings I have (under VCR Menus) are:
/1394 TC Regen / on
/TCG / Rec Run
/First Rec TC / Regen
/1394 UB Regen / Off

/DV Out set ON

- Is there somthing i've done wrong, as the manual don't give much info on that.

I use this to preview titles etc. before burning stuff to DVD rather than buy an analogue output card and it works fine.

Have tried all sorts of combinations but still no luck.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Just asking, but have you checked your FCP settings??

View-External Video-ALL FRAMES???

I will check when I get home - but I definitley did not change anything on FCP - so I figure it is the camera, 'cause I know it was messed with. Will reply post if it is a FCP issue - but been using FCP for about 3 years now and never had such an issue except with the marvelous DVX100.

hey Capt M,

May I be relegated to the word of hi8- I must be in need of more sleep - Indeed you were right - perhaps because i had the camera not plugged in and using Final Cut it defaulted back to not displaying external vid.

No -- FCP has this knack for changing those settings. Sometimes like you said, sometimes not. I don't know why. I've been dealing with this question since version 1!!
