I recently tried hooking up my DVX to my mac with a 4 to 6 pin firewire cable so I could use it with ichat. It worked fine but now when I try doing it again I get nothing. It doesn't show up in FCP or system profiler. I tried a different cable, different firewire port, nothing. I know the cables are good too because I can still connect my DSR-11.
I closely inspected the 4 pin female out on the DVX and everything looks kosher. The one thing is that ever since I've had the camera that port has been a bit snug. So I would tend to think that I may have forced it in. However, it was working in the past when it was that tight and I've seen mangled 4 pins before and mine looks fine.
So, that being said, I wondering if anyone knows if there is any kind of settings in the camera or any kind of function that would turn off the firewire out. Maybe it's something completely different but if anyone could shed some light on my current situation it would be greatly appreciated.
